Dear Jesuit Schools
My name is Alex Benz. I
am currently student teaching business classes at Grandview High School in the
Denver metropolitan area, and I am concurrently in the process of obtaining my
Master of Education degree from Regis University. I am scheduled to graduate
from Regis and finish student teaching in December 2019, so I am therefore
actively looking for a job in education that would start in January 2020.
While I anticipate
getting my license to teach business to secondary students once I graduate, I
am also open to adding endorsements, in physical education and social studies
in particular. I am receptive to coaching or moderating clubs, as I enjoy ice
hockey, soccer, and baseball, among other things. What I may be lacking in
teaching experience, I make up for in enthusiasm and hard work. I believe that
it is critical to be prepared for class ahead of time since it is important that
students learn in an efficient and organized manner.
While I could just list
adjectives to self-promote myself so that I can get a job, people that I have
worked with and work with currently would be the best to ask about how they
think I would fare as a teacher. This is why I would recommend reaching out to
a member of the business department at Grandview High School if you have any
questions about my traits or qualifications. After all, most people when
competing for jobs will use superlatives to describe themselves, some of which
may not be accurate in reality.
I am happy to be in a field where my work will
be gratifying and can help others succeed. I attended a Jesuit high school, Jesuit
undergraduate institution, and I currently attend a Jesuit graduate institution,
so I am familiar with Jesuit ideology. Please don’t hesitate to contact me at
firstname.lastname@example.org if you feel that there might be a
fit for a position requiring my skills and background in your district, or if
you have any questions. Thank you!
